NEWSFLASH! Green-built can be as economical as typical construction. Because we specialize in only green building, we are constantly updating our knowledge and our techniques to assure our customers receive quality construction at close to typical construction costs, and in some cases, lower.
But our customers get more than just a better home at a great price. When you live in an Eco-Green Builders home, you will save on your utility costs, help lower carbon footprints, and have a home that requires less maintenance than a typically-constructed home.
Wood used in an Eco-Green Builders home is Forest Stwardship Council certified wood and lumber. We also use recycled and recyclable materials. The roofing material, for example, is made in part from recycled tires. Not only does this help to keep tires out of landfills, but it also has a 50-yr life. Most roofs are rated for 30 years and some as little as 7.
They say a truly green-built home can be heated with a candle and cooled with an ice cube. While we recognize that as hyperbole, the amount of energy needed to maintain your comfort is far less than in a standard home. In fact, we had a customer whose heat source was unintentionally shut off and it took them three days to realize it during below freezing temperatures!
The greater insulation properties of an Eco-Green Builders home comes from several different products. LOGIX brand insulated concrete forms, ICFs, are used for our daylight basements and Structural Insulated Panels, also known as SIPs, are used above grade. Beacause of products like these, your home will be at least 58% more energy efficient than your neighbors'.
AND not only will you home cost less to heat and cool, the air quality inside your home will be better than the environment. Our home ventilation systems, the Ultimateair Recuperator, removes virtually all mold and allergen carrying spores and decreases the amount of dust entering the home. The air is cleaner and the home is easier to keep clean.
